I’ve finally given in and created a twitter account for myself. Well actually for my other self – the high profile blogger pseudonym. When twitter was all the hype months ago, I had a look at it and could not find a practical use for it. It seemed a limited, restricted way of communicating with others. We’ve all got instant messenger, forums, IRC, email – why use twitter?
Well today I found out that its still going strong, and quite a few other high profile bloggers have an account in which they interact with their readers and friends. Its a great tool to do some networking because anyone can join in on the conversation. Since twitter’s userbase is huge, I’m bound to pick up a few new readers and subscribers for my other blog.
Having the latest twitter updates intergrated in the sidebar, I’ll see how much of a following I will get in the next few weeks. Perhaps my first thoughts were dead on, but perhaps twitter will expand my online experience. Time will tell.
